Section C: Squatter Control Chapter 1: Squatter Control Following the transfer of the squatter control and clearance duties from the Housing Department to the Lands Department effective from 1 April 2006, the Housing Department is no longer responsible for the prevention and control of illegal structures on undeveloped Government land and leased agricultural land in the territory. Squatter areas in the whole territory are under the management of the Lands Department.  Enquiries on squatter control policy should be addressed to the Lands Department.
