Enhancing Quality and Professionalism in Construction and Maintenance
 
Objectives of the Awards
 
The Quality Public Housing Construction and Maintenance Awards 2010 is co-organised by the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong Construction Association Ltd., Hong Kong Federation of Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Ltd., Hong Kong Construction Sub-Contractors Association, Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union, Construction Site Workers General Union, Hong Kong & Kowloon Electrical Engineering & Appliances Trade Workers Union, Labour Department, Occupational Safety & Health Council, Construction Industry Council and Vocational Training Council with the aims to:
   
Recognise outstanding contractors, project teams, supervisors and workers for their outstanding performance in the construction and maintenance of public housing projects; and
Facilitate experience sharing and to enhance the built quality and maintenance of public housing.

Outstanding contractors, sub-contractors, teams, supervisors, foremen and workers, Total Maintenance Scheme ambassadors and workers will be awarded with trophies and certificates.

Assessment Criteria
 
Candidates will be assessed by their performance in terms of work quality, site safety, occupational safety and health, environmental protection, ethical integrity, partnership and customer service.
 
Nomination Requirements
 
Members of the Estate Management Advisory Committees, District Councillors, public housing estate tenants, contractors / nominated sub-contractors and staff of the Housing Department are invited to submit nominations.
Nominations for outstanding Maintenance & Improvement Projects have to be submitted by Chief Managers/Management of the Housing Department.

(B) Maintenance & Improvement Projects
Strategy Development Unit, Housing Department

(C) Estate Management Office of public housing estates.
