The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) has been incorporating green concepts and principles into the planning, design and construction of public housing, and management of its public rental housing (PRH) estates to improve residents’ living environment. Apart from implementing green measures in different areas of our work, we also organise a wide range of educational and publicity programmes to raise PRH tenants’ and estate management staff’s environmental awareness and encourage them to join hands in building a green community.

To create a green and healthy living environment for public housing residents, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) incorporates green measures into the planning, design, construction and demolition processes of our public housing. We take energy saving, cost-effectiveness of design, waste management and greening issues into full consideration. Our new development projects are designed to BEAM Plus ready targeting to reach Gold rating standard or above.
