HA Wins a WebCare Award 2010

In recognition of its efforts in providing barrier-free internet services and helping the needy communities gain access to information technology, the Housing Authority / Housing Department Web Site was presented a Jade Award at the WebCare Award 2010 organised by the Internet Professional Association.

We have made continuous improvement in the functionality and user-friendliness of our website over the years, with a view to meeting the diverse needs of different user groups. A number of special features and tools, such as text descriptions for images and the scalable font size function, have been adopted to facilitate users including the visually-impaired to browse our website more easily. Other features like convenient switch between languages and good colour contrast have fulfilled the more stringent standards of the WebCare criteria.

About 160 local organisations took part in the competition this year. This is the sixth time we have received the WebCare Award.
