EMACs Commended for Promoting Fire Safety

To acknowledge the effort made by Estate Management Advisory Committees (EMACs) in promoting fire safety in public rental housing (PRH) estates, the Housing Authority has organised for the fourth year the "EMAC Award Scheme on Promotion of Fire Safety". An award presentation ceremony was held on 24 March and attended by about 200 EMAC members from 18 estates.

Photo: Mr Tony Liu, Assistant Director of Housing (Estate Management), welcomes the forum speakers.Officiating at the ceremony, Assistant Director of Housing (Estate Management) Mr Leung Sai-chi commended the award-winning estates, and encouraged all EMAC members to stay vigilant against fire hazards and to arrange regular fire drills to boost PRH tenants' awareness of fire safety.

Photo: The participants show great interest in the presentation.Eighteen EMACs were awarded this year, including Chung On Estate, Fu Cheong Estate, Kai Yip Estate, Ko Yee Estate, Kwai Chung Estate, Kwai Shing East Estate, Lei Muk Shue Estate, Lung Hang Estate, Ping Shek Estate, Siu Sai Wan Estate, Sun Tin Wai Estate, Tai Hang Tung Estate, Tai Wo Hau Estate, Tin Shui Estate, Tin Tsz Estate, Tin Yuet Estate, Tsz Ching Estate and Tsz Lok Estate. The award-winning EMACs will be granted additional funds for further stepping up their promotion of fire safety in the coming year.
