The latest phase of the Housing Authority’s (HA’s) Express Flat Allocation Scheme (EFAS) is inviting applications from 10 to 30 July 2013. Eligible applicants may receive express allocation of public rental housing (PRH) units.
Upon fulfilling the seven-year residence requirement and holding a valid housing offer, applicants with a valid Waiting List (WL) application which has a registration date or equivalent registration date on or before 31 March 2013 are eligible to apply; irrespective of whether they have applied under a previous phase of the scheme or not.
The HA has sent invitation letters to qualified WL applicants. Those who are eligible and intend to apply may call the HA Hotline if they have not received the invitation letter.
The EFAS is launched subject to the availability of housing resources. Most of the flats offered under the current EFAS are vacant units in older housing estates in various districts including the Outlying Islands and the New Territories, while some are in the urban and the extended urban districts. Those estates are equipped with fairly comprehensive facilities in terms of transportation, shopping, community services and medical care. A small number of units, however, have been involved in unpleasant incidents, or have less attractive conditions in terms of floor level, orientation or internal layout. Some of these units are offered with rent reduction periods.
To welcome the summer holidays, decorations have been put up in six shopping centres under the Housing Authority (HA), while an array of activities are being lined up for all to enjoy happy summer holidays.
With the theme of "Summer Ocean", the dressed-up shopping centres including Yau Lai, Choi Tak, Lei Muk Shue, Kwai Chung, Hoi Lai and Mei Tin Shopping Centres feature the lovely "Little King" and his buddies like dolphins, sea turtles and a variety of fishes playing in the ocean to cool down in this hot summer.
To kick off the series of summer activities, a stage variety show cum mini performances will be held at Lei Muk Shue Shopping Centre on 28 July. The show will cover children Cantonese Opera, clown acrobatics, and rope skipping. It will be hosted by famous performing artists who will also play games with visitors.
On the four consecutive Sundays within the period from 28 July to 18 August, a wide range of activities will be launched in the six shopping centres, such as inflatable trampoline, mascot parade by “Little King”, and balloons distribution.
