Exchanging Experience on Housing Development in High Density Cities

The 19th Conference of the Housing and Urban Public Corporations in Asia (A-HUC) was successfully held in Singapore on 1-4 June. Delegations from the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) and housing organisations of Japan, Singapore and South Korea exchanged valuable experience at the Conference featuring the theme of “Housing and Planning Solutions for Better Living in High Density Cities”. Hosted by the Housing and Development Board of Singapore, the 19th Conference was co-located with the “World Cities Summit 2014” (WCS 2014) in Singapore. In addition to the A-HUC Conference, delegates were given the chance to share housing experience with over 400 representatives of governments and corporations from about 50 countries/regions around the world. |

 The HA’s delegation head Mr Lam Sze-chuen, Assistant Director of Housing (Project), explained in the “WCS 2014” how to optimise the development potential of the public housing sites without compromising the environment at the A-HUC track. Chief Managers of Management (Support Services) Mr Virgil Hsu and Mr Danny Chung jointly presented a paper on “Driving Sustainability for Better Living in Public Housing of Hong Kong” at the A-HUC Conference. The A-HUC Conference was jointly founded by the HA, Housing and Development Board of Singapore, the Urban Renaissance Agency of Japan and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation in 1995. The four member organisations take turns to hold the conference annually. |
