To boost awareness of environmental protection and to promote waste reduction among public rental housing (PRH) tenants, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) continued the campaign entitled “Let's join hands to reduce waste in our estates” across all PRH estates this year. A series of promotional activities such as Chinese New Year Citrus Plants Replanting Scheme and Mooncake Box Recycling Programme have been arranged to remind PRH residents to reduce municipal solid waste.

The Mooncake Box Recycling Programme 2019 was launched in September. The HA has displayed the programme posters and set up collection points for used mooncake boxes at its estates, shopping centres and HA Headquarters. Residents, commercial tenants and Housing Department staff are encouraged to bring their mooncake boxes to the collection points for handing over to recyclers.
