The latest biennial EMAC Seminar was held on 24 March 2018 at Hong Kong Science Park with cherishing resources and building a harmonious community as the themes. About 700 EMAC representatives from different PRH estates across the territory attended the seminar. In recent years, the EMACs have been supporting the HD in combating tenancy abuse, promoting waste reduction and building a harmonious community. Members also helped to promote the first mobile application for PRH tenants - the "iHousing" app.
At the event, former Director of Housing, Mr Stanley Ying thanked the EMAC members for their advice and support on management issues and playing an important role in improving estate services and facilities. He also presented certificates of appreciation to 127 EMAC members who have been serving the committees for more than 20 years. The seminar also saw tenant representatives, HD staff, Fire Services Department staff and representatives from Po Leung Kuk and Business Environment Council giving brilliant presentations in which they engaged with the key messages of the themes. For the presentations involving tenant representatives from Sha Kok Estate and Siu Sai Wan Estate, they shared their views and experiences about the theme, which enriched the knowledge of the participants.
