Green Delight in Estates

Green Tours and Visits

In order to raise the environmental awareness of the residents, we have organised different learning activities for the PRH residents and EMAC members. One of these activities was eco-tours aiming to bring residents to visiting places with high ecological or environmental educational values such as Tai O, Lamma Island, Nam Sang Wai, etc. These guided tours not only offered the residents great opportunities to enjoy the natural environment, but also to learn a wide range of environment knowledge including air pollution, nature conservation, waste reduction as well as low carbon living.

Free trips were held for the residents of the GDE participating estates to visit environmental facilities such as sewage treatment facilities, landfills and recycling facilities. In addition, we organised guided visits to Tree Trails and Butterfly Gardens in public housing estates to promote the environmental infrastructures established in different estates.

In the first 5-year cycle of GDE programme, we organised a total of about 150 visits and benefited around 7,800 participants.
