Green Delight in Estates
Tree Trails and Butterfly Gardens in Estates
We have established tree trails and butterfly gardens in selected public housing estates in each phase of the GDE programme to allow the residents to appreciate and learn about the nature in their living place. With the environmental infrastructures established, the estates were featured with a distinguished and unique environmental trademark for green image. Upon the completion of the first cycle of the GDE programme, a total of 37 tree trails and 14 butterfly gardens were set up in 49 estates.
Tree trail was specially designed for each estate to feature various trees planted for tree appreciation. Display panels were set up in front of the trees to highlight the characteristics, ecology and interesting features of the species to let the residents learn about the trees in a lively way.
