Mr Chris
GABRIEL
Mr
Chris GABRIEL studied at the Oxford School of Architecture
and worked on housing projects in London before coming to
Hong Kong in 1980.
Since joining the
Housing Department he has been involved with public housing
estate design and construction projects in the New Territories
and in Hong Kong Island. He later developed an interest in
housing for the elderly when working in the Design and Standards
Section, on client briefs, standard designs and specifications
for general use in public housing estates.
He carried out
a study of projects for the elderly in UK in 1994 and has
since been involved in developing new designs of for use in
Housing Authority projects.
He has been involved
in recent years with the design and building contract management
of projects in the North West New Territories and Hong Kong
Island and assumed the role of Project Manager for these districts
in 1997.
He re-joined the
Design and Standards Section in 1998 with responsibilities
for preparing the Clients Requirements, Standard Designs and
Specifications and for the various Design Guides that are
used by project teams when preparing their estate designs.
