Mr Nicholas
BROOKE
Mr
Nicholas BROOKE is the Chairman of Brooke International, Real
Estate Advisors Worldwide. He was born in the United Kingdom
in 1941, obtained a degree in Estate Management at the University
of London in 1963 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business
Administration from the same University a year later. He became
a Professional Associate of The Royal Institution of Chartered
Surveyors in 1966 and a Fellow of the Institution in 1975.
On the formation of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in
1984 he was a founder member and elected a Fellow of the Institute.
Mr BROOKE spent
his early professional days working in London, administering
properties belonging to the Crown and Church Commissioners,
followed by a period in the Middle East, acting in an advisory
capacity to several of the ruling families in relation to
their real estate portfolios.
Mr BROOKE came
to Hong Kong in 1980 to join Swire Properties Ltd. as General
Manager of the Development and Valuation Department and became
Deputy Managing Director of the Company in 1984. He played
a major role in the development of the Company's flagship
developments of Taikoo Shing, City Plaza and Pacific Place.
In 1988 he took
the decision to establish his own consultancy practice to
offer a comprehensive service covering all the financial,
technical, technical and economic implications of property
development, investment and ownership and Brooke Internationals
now constitutes one of the leading firms in the region with
22 offices in 13 countries, employing some 500 professional
and technical staff.
Mr BROOKE, who
was awarded the Bronze Bohenia Star in 1999, also takes a
close interest in local affairs, is a Justice of the Peace,
a member of the Town Planning Board in Hong Kong and holds
advisory appointments with several important non-government
bodies. He also sits on the board of the Hong Kong Technology
Centre and is Chairman of the Real Estate Services Committee
of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce.
