LAU Sau Shing, Patrick
Professor
and Head of the Department of Architecture, The University
of Hong Kong. Graduated with Thesis Prize at the University
of Manitoba, Canada in 1969. Received Master of Business Administration
in 1988.
Received HKIA Annual
Awards for the French International School, the Hong Kong
International School and the West Island School. The design
of the Hong Kong International School also received the American
ACSA/AIA School Design Award. Awarded the Most Accessible
Building for the disabled for the design of the Hong Kong
Jockey Club Centre for the Blind, the Pacific Area Tourist
Association Heritage & Cultural Award for the design of
the Sam Tung Uk Museum. Received Honorable Mentions for the
Prince George Library and Cultural Centre Competitions in
Canada in 1976. Awarded the Winning Award for the HKUST Architectural
Competition in 1987. Received the Outstanding Young Persons
Award in 1984, the HKIA Outstanding Architect Award in 1991
and the Artist of the Year Award in 1999.
Community activities
include serving as Member of the HKSAR Working Group on Reunification
Monument and Government Housing Renaming, Member of the Town
Planning Board, Member of the Architects Registration Board,
Member of the Building Committee of the Housing Authority
and HKIA Representative to serve the Appeal Tribunal Panel
(Buildings).
