About this Report Report Scope [Photo: Our stakeholders.] This 2003 / 04 report, "Paving the Way for Sustainable Housing", is our first ever Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Report, and covers our activities over the 12-month period from 1 April 2003 through to 31 March 2004. Building on our previous environmental reports, this expanded report provides performance information on the significant health and safety issues relevant to our operations, in addition to performance on environmental issues that have been reported annually since our first environmental report, the Housing Authority Environmental Report 1999 / 2000. In preparing this report, efforts have been made to collect, compile and present data on key EHS indicators where such information was available. We have also, wherever possible, explored benchmarking opportunities. We understand the vital importance of partnership with and awareness within the community as a basis for identifying and advancing sustainable development initiatives. As such, this report is targeted at all our stakeholders: tenants and home owners in our estates, business partners, our staff and government colleagues, green groups and the media. Stakeholder Feedback [Photo: The Housing Authority Environmental Report 2002 / 03.] Your generous feedback on our Environmental Report 2002 / 03 is summarized in Annex A, and we are grateful for your valuable comments on this year's report. Once again, we would appreciate your feedback on this report. Guide to Reading this Report We have a total of 37 EHS initiatives while environmental is still taken as the core focus among the three aspects. Most initiatives can be classified under two or all three EHS aspects with only a few are exclusively under the scope of one aspect. The Reading Guide below is to provide stakeholders with a better understanding of our EHS initiatives and performance through our reporting processes.
