The programme identifies assets such as commercial, retail and car parking facilities with the potential for being enhanced to increase their value. Enhancements under the programme might include undertaking major improvement works, redesignating the trade mix in shopping centres, adding extra shops, or converting premises for new uses. We select assets for the programme if studies show that enhancing them will better meet the needs of local residents and optimise HA%u2019s own use of resources.In 2023/24, Lung Poon Court and Cheung Sha Wan Estate were added to the asset enhancement programme, which will involve studying options for enhancing the retail facilities in these two estates. During the year, improvement works were completed in Yau Lai Shopping Centre. They included upgrades to directory signs and internal decorations to create closer synergies between Yau Lai Shopping Centre and Domain nearby and help position them as a single shopping attraction, as well as the installation of additional lighting and toilet improvements. Work was also in hand to carry out improvements to the retail facilities of several existing PRH estates, including Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate, Mei Tin Estate, Shui Pin Wai Estate, Choi Wan (II) Estate, Tung Wui Estate and Shek Yam (East) Estate.Electric vehicles (EVs)Currently, EV chargers have been installed in around 2 330 private car (PC) parking spaces at 100 HA carparks. Given the Government%u2019s long-term policy objectives regarding EVs and the rapid increase in EV users, we plan to expand this provision. Our aim is to progressively provide extra medium charging facilities for about 5 000 PC parking spaces, with the aim of increasing the number of PC parking spaces with charging facilities to one-third of our total stock by 2025.
