We anticipate that the first reception estate, on Wah King Street at the edge of the existing Wah Fu Estate, will be ready for occupancy by the end of 2026. As the other four reception estates are planned to be completed in subsequent years, the old Wah Fu Estate will gradually be cleared and redeveloped, emerging from 2040 onwards as a brand new model estate ready to take Wah Fu%u2019s story forward into the future.In total, the five reception sites in the area in Pok Fu Lam will provide about 8 920 public housing flats, nearly the number of flats in the current Wah Fu Estate. The flat mix at these reception estates has been tailor-designed so that they will both be able to rehouse existing households and re-provision the social welfare facilities serving the residents. Once the redevelopment is completed, the new-look Wah Fu Estate is targeted to increase from about 9 200 to about 12 200 flats. When the new flats in the reception estates are added in, the entire redevelopment project will provide about 21 120 flats, representing a significant increase in the size of the Wah Fu community. More importantly, the new Wah Fu community will be modern, vibrant, sustainable, green and user-friendly %u2013 a superb environment for a new generation of Hong Kong residents to thrive in.
