In view of the industrial fatal accidents occurred in early 2021, there was an urgent need for the stakeholders of the construction industry to take immediate actions for improving site safety. The Construction Industry Council (CIC) launched the “Life First” safety promotional campaign again in May 2021, and urged a structured safety review to be conducted for each and every active construction site in Hong Kong.
HA supported the function and over 50 HA construction projects joined the campaign. On 18 May 2021, the senior management of the HA and the works contractors paid visits to construction sites to disseminate safety message for raising safety awareness of all site management levels and frontline site personnel.
