The Safe Working Cycle is a tool of site management, which, through proper handling of daily routines and matters of management, aims to enhance the effective implementation of safety management systems—thereby helping to prevent accidents and work injuries.

The safe working cycle is a well-planned, scheduled programme of events with specific targets/goals set daily, weekly or monthly. The cycle requires contractors to integrate safety and health practices into a systematic framework by emphasising leadership and promoting total participation. It then monitors work practices to prevent, detect and resolve unsafe conditions, before an incident occurs.
