We seek to continually improve safety standards through various procurement and contractual measures. To achieve sustained improvements, all our business partners have to continue drawing up long-term safety goals and putting good corporate governance into practice. In future, we anticipate lower accident rates and further enhancements in site safety.
We promote the ‘ZERO incident’ goal through an on-going campaign that aims to heighten vigilance on all fronts. Contractors and service providers must seek to minimise workplace accidents and incidents by continuously improving general site safety and properly addressing high risk activities.
Two specific immediate targets are:
- Zero fatal accidents
- Less than 8 accidents per 1,000 workers per year
The site accident rate limit is changed from 9 to 8 per 1,000 workers with effect from April 2023 onwards.
