The Surprise Safety Inspection Programme (SSIP) has been implemented in Housing Authority Capital Works New Works Contracts since 2013 in order to raise vigilance and further enhance safety management through surprise site visits by independent safety inspectors.
In order to provide incentives for contractor to improve site safety performance, the SSIP scores are merged into the safety score in Performance Assessment Scoring System(PASS), PilingPASS and DemolitionPASS, and the Integrated Pay for Safety, Environment and Hygiene Scheme also is linked to SSIP.
