The ‘Hong Kong Safe and Healthy Estate Accreditation Scheme’ has been launched by Occupational Safety and Health Council to encourage estates to adopt the ‘Safe and Healthy Estate Programme’. The concept of safe and healthy estates originates from the Hong Kong Safe Community Project. The scheme recognises the importance and need of safety and health on housing estates and endeavours to enhance the safety and health awareness of both residents and working staff on relevant estates. It also promotes affiliation among the estate management, owners’ organisations, residents, and relevant community organisations to help provide a safe, healthy and harmonious working and living environment for everyone in the estates.
