The Comprehensive Structural Investigation Programme ascertains the structural integrity and accommodation quality of public rental housing estates that are around 40 years old. This helps us determine if an estate should be demolished for redevelopment or retained for at least 15 more years after considering the repair costs.

Since its inception in 2005, the programme has conducted "health check" for 15 estates. Except for the planned demolition of So Uk Estate and Block 22 of Tung Tau Estate, we have decided to sustain the other estates through suitable repair and improvement works.
