Hosted by Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA), an annual dinner was held on 26 April to thank members of the HA and its Committees for their contributions over the past year, and to bid farewell to outgoing members and welcome new members.
In his welcoming speech, Professor Cheung said that the HA plays an important role in the Government’s overall housing policies and is tasked with the development of public housing. The HA will continue to do its best to increase the supply of public housing by expediting the process of identifying sites for housing construction, through the co-operation of all parties involved. Apart from increasing housing production, the HA is committed to raising the standards of management and services in public housing estates, and providing its tenants with a safe and comfortable living environment which keeps up with the times. With concerted effort of all its members, the HA would surely rise above the challenges ahead and translate its vision into real actions, thereby enabling the sustainable development of Hong Kong’s public housing.
