People are the most important asset of an organisation. To maintain high service quality and to meet an increase in public housing production target, the Hong Kong Housing Authority has been striving to build a strong team of quality people; and at the same time to recruit new members to cope with the retirement of experienced personnel.
Public housing development and construction is a complex and unique process requiring professional knowledge and skills. To facilitate knowledge and skills transfer, the Housing Department has recently established the DCD (Development and Construction Division) Academy with an aim to build a knowledge-based community through the provision of timely, continuous and comprehensive training packages to personnel engaged in public housing development and construction, including those in-house staff and external participants.
