HA projects commended in Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony

 Jointly organised by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, Labour Department and Construction Industry Council, the 17th Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 5 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with government departments, industry-related organisations, trade associations and workers’ unions as co-organisers. Major focuses of the ceremony were on occupational safety and health with respect to prevention of heat stroke, method statement, working at height, safety culture, refurbishment and maintenance works. Awards of competitions were presented to recognise construction companies, management teams and workers with outstanding occupational safety and health performance in the construction industry. |

The Hong Kong Housing Authority’s (HA’s) contractors of new works and maintenance works contracts have received a total of 14 awards, including three Gold, one Silver, three Bronze and seven Merit Awards in the categories of "Best Programme to Prevent Heat Stroke at Work", "Best Safety Enhancement Programme for Working at Height", "Competition on Safety Culture", "Best Refurbishment and Maintenance Contactor in Occupational Safety and Health" and "Best Performance".
