Organised by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, a Kick-off Ceremony of the Charter on Preferential Appointment of OSH Star Enterprise cum Safety Forum on Working above Ground was held on 11 August. The forum covered safety management on working above ground and working at height, analysis of accident cases, key points in selecting repair and maintenance contractors, and relevant works insurance and liability risk.

As a caring organisation, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) pledged to engage the OSH Star Enterprises with priority for their implementation of effective safety management system in repair, maintenance, alteration and addition (RMAA) works and to promote RMAA works safety for the protection of our valuable workforce. We specified that bamboo scaffolding companies with less than 50 employees which undertake bamboo scaffolding works in new works and district term contracts must be certified under OSH Star Enterprise – RMAA Safety Accreditation Scheme, with a grace period up to 31 December 2017.
