ISO Certification of ICU Upgraded

For better integration with other business activities and greater involvement of the top management, the Independent Checking Unit (ICU) has successfully extended the scope of the Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS) and upgraded it to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards recently.

ICU obtained ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications on "Building Control for Public Housing" in May 2014. With the whole-hearted involvement of ICU staff, QEMS has been implemented effectively, smoothly and satisfactorily as verified in all the previous audits by Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). Keeping the momentum, ICU has also been dedicated to the upgrade of QEMS to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, as well as the inclusion of Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme Team and Minor Works Team in the certification scope. The upgraded QEMS has been fully implemented to cover all building control teams of ICU since June 2017.

In the audit reports of the upgrading and scope extension exercise, HKQAA commended ICU for its strong commitment from top management to supporting the system implementation and the whole-hearted dedication from experienced professional team members to implement the upgraded system seamlessly.

Further to verification of the certification scope and system standards of ICU in November 2017, the certification scope to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards was accepted by HKQAA on 13 December 2017.
