Designed in the style of Han-dynasty, Han Garden in Lei Cheng Uk Estate is featured with stone-carved gate pillars, grey tiles and white walls, classical pavilions and bridges, and a beautiful pond. Built in 1993, Han Garden has recently been given a facelift by the Hong Kong Housing Authority.
A courtyard, designed in the theme of a Chinese chessboard and adorned with wonderful arrays of Chinese flowers and plants, has recently been added. It integrates seamlessly into the surrounding architectural landscape, making it a new attraction to Han Garden. In addition to landscape improvement works and replanting of existing flower beds, a variety of plants on display at the Housing Department’s garden at last year’s Hong Kong Flower Show including Ficus microcarpa var. crassifolia, Podocarpus macrophyllus, Bougainvillea spectabilis and Camellia japonica have been cultivated at Han Garden. Other improvement works include enhanced safety facilities and an upgraded filter system for the pond.
