Public housing resources are precious and should be rationally allocated to those in genuine need. To alert members of the general public and its housing tenants to guard against tenancy abuse, the Housing Department (HD) has been publicising the messages through different channels.

Jointly organised by the HD and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) for the first time, the “Cherish Public Housing Resources Campaign 2019/20” kick-off ceremony was held at Domain, our shopping mall in Yau Tong, at end-September. A series of activities will be launched in different public housing estates across the territory to promote the messages of cherishing public housing resources and fighting tenancy abuse. One of the key activities, a roving “Cherish Public Housing Resources” fun fair, will be organised across 28 public rental housing estates between 25 October 2019 and 11 January 2020. Through interactive and interesting games, tenants will be able to learn more about what tenancy abuse is, how to report suspected tenancy abuse cases and what the consequences for substantiated cases are.

Anyone who identified suspected tenancy abuse cases may report them by calling the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) Hotline 2712 2712, reporting online via the HA/HD Website, sending in the Tenancy Abuse Report Aerogramme or informing staff of the estate office. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
