Sharing Housing Experience in Creating Sustainable and Inclusive Communities

 A delegation of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) has recently attended the 25th Conference of the Housing and Urban Public Corporations in Asia (A-HUC). In view of the epidemic, the conference was held online for the first time on 30 November. The Conference was hosted by the Urban Renaissance Agency of Japan (URA) this year. Delegates from other two member organisations are the Housing and Development Board (HDB) of Singapore and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation of South Korea (KLHC). |

With its theme “Creating Sustainable and Inclusive Communities”, experience and adoption of new technologies were shared among the delegates in the Conference. Chief Architect, Ms Chimmy Chu, one of HA’s delegates, shared her experience in adopting environmental concept, innovation and precast technologies to enhance construction quality and efficiency in her presentation on “Energising the Community - Sustainable and Resilient Public Housing in Hong Kong”. She also quoted the conversion of Chun Yeung Estate as a temporary quarantine centre to help combating COVID-19. Chief Manager/Management, Mr Wong Pui-chun, shared his experience in implementing waste reduction measures and initiatives which encouraged tenants to follow green practices in his presentation on “Embracing a green and healthy living in Public Housing Estates of Hong Kong”. |
