I attended the Estate Management Division Staff Incentive Scheme 2022/23 Award Ceremony on 1 June to share the joy of the winning teams and individuals. The Estate Management Division (EMD) has the largest number of staff in the Housing Department. Colleagues from EMD have been working tirelessly on the frontline in implementing public housing policies, especially in the past three years during which they were faced with challenges such as the fight against the epidemic, rodent control and environmental hygiene of housing estates. Undeterred by the difficulties, they remained united and resolved problems with zeal and creativity. Their relentless efforts are highly commendable.
Public expectations of our services continue to rise. There are increasing demands for shortening the waiting time for public rental housing, improving environmental hygiene in estates, safeguarding the rational use of public housing resources, etc. Thanks to the hard work of our colleagues, we are able to provide quality services and living environment for the public.
In the coming year, colleagues of EMD will encounter new challenges arising from the implementation of a series of new measures to combat tenancy abuse, optimise the “Well-off Tenants Policies” and the “Addition Policy”, and enhance the Marking Scheme for Estate Management Enforcement.
I encourage colleagues to familiarise themselves with the policy objectives and implementation details of our new initiatives, actively explain them to public rental housing tenants, and respond proactively to their enquiries and concerns. I, together with the departmental management, will continue to work shoulder to shoulder with EMD colleagues.
