Hong Kong Housing Authority and Housing Department

The Housing Authority / Housing Department (HA/HD) Website has received Special Mention award in the Top 10.hk Website Competition 2013. It is among the top 5 out of 82 entries in the government department category of the competition.

Organised by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, the competition has received over 400 entries from commercial and public organisations in Hong Kong of which their website domains are registered with .hk. All entries to the competition were evaluated according to four judging criteria, namely overall design and functionality, engagement, use of social media and web accessibility. Result was announced in April this year. A total of five government departments have been granted awards in the competition. Apart from the HA, other winners in the government department category are the Hong Kong Observatory (Gold), Radio Television Hong Kong (Gold), the Office of the Communications Authority (Special Mention) and the Hong Kong Police Force (Special Mention).

The HA/HD Website (//www.housingauthority.gov.hk) has adopted a new information structure and a novel design upon the completion of a major revamp in November 2011. Useful interactive online tools, such as an Eligibility Checker for potential applicants to check their eligibility for public rental housing, have been added to the website. To cater for the need of ethnic minorities, parts of the website contents are also available in other languages, including Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog and Thai.
