Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) and industry organisations, the presentation ceremony of the Quality Public Housing Construction and Maintenance Awards 2021 was held on 22 November to recognise the excellent performance of HA’s contractors, sub-contractors, project teams, supervisors and front-line workers.
Officiating at the award presentation ceremony, the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), Miss Agnes Wong, expressed that construction and maintenance contractors have made relentless effort to complete their projects, despite the difficulties brought by the epidemic over the period of almost two years. Their outstanding performances were commended. In the next decade, the HA will continue to build a substantial amount of public housing. Miss Wong looked forward to the continuous collaboration of the HA with industry practitioners, with professionalism and innovative spirit, for providing quality, comfortable and sustainable public housing for people in Hong Kong.

Four new awards, namely Fighting Epidemic at Sites, Innovative Proposal in Building Construction (Robotic Application), Outstanding Intake Ambassadors, and the Merit Award for Fighting Epidemic, were introduced to commend contractors’ outstanding performance in fighting epidemic, and to encourage industry practitioners to enhance built quality and cost-efficiency by using more innovative technologies.
