Mr Tony TSE Wai-chuen, SBS, JP
Mr Tony TSE Wai-chuen is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Founding President of the Hong Kong Property and Facilities Management Association of the Greater Bay Area. He became an appointed member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in 2018. Besides, he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2014, appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2020, and awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star in 2025.
Mr Tse joined the Public Works Department as an Estate Surveying Graduate soon after graduation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic (now The Hong Kong Polytechnic University) in 1976. He served in the Government for nearly 12 years, rising to the rank of Senior Estate Surveyor when he left the service. He has held senior positions in several public organisations and private enterprises since then, and is now the Founder cum Director of Brand Star Limited, a property development consultancy established by him in recent years.
Mr Tse has engaged in the development sector for almost 50 years. Apart from this sustained commitment to the profession, he participates actively in public affairs. He has been appointed by the Government to a range of public service roles, including the Chairman of the Property Management Services Authority, the Vice-Chairman of the Independent Police Complaints Council, a member of the Town Planning Board, the Chairman of the Real Estate Services Training Board of the Vocational Training Council, the Infrastructure Development Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, a Court Member of Lingnan University, and a member of the Land and Building Advisory Committee. He was also appointed as the Chairman of the Surveyors Registration Board in 2002-2003, elected as the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in 2003-2004, and served as a Member of the Legislative Council (5th term: Architectural, Surveying and Planning; 6th and 7th terms: Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape).
