Single elderly persons applying for public rental housing (PRH) under this priority scheme must be 58 years of age or above, and must have attained the age of 60 at the time of flat allocation, while also fulfilling the general eligibility criteria of the application for PRH.
Eligible applications under this scheme enjoy priority processing over the application by ordinary families.
Single elderly persons may apply for addition of family members and become qualified as an ordinary family applicant. Half of the waiting time accumulated in the one-person application, up to a maximum of three years, will be credited to the family application. After adjusting the waiting time, a registration date equivalent to that of a family application will be computed. This registration date will serve as a reference for the subsequent allocation and enforcement of relevant PRH application policies.
